'Roomours - A Series of Spaces and Texts'. Sexmutant has commissioned Ernst Fischer to create a series of fluid and interactive installation / performance environments at the Nunnery Gallery over a three day period:
Ernst Fischer’s extensive performance career has embraced both solo work
and collaborations with
For two years (1989-91) Ernst
was a member of the David Glass New Mime Ensemble.
He is co-founder of
the Pink Feet, Warm Bodies dance theatre company and has toured UK with
Gay Sweatshop: Club Deviant (1997).
Ernst’s solo work has included The
Bound Man, ICA; Alkemie, Whitechapel Gallery; Anus Domini, London
International Festival of Theatre (all 1999); and Love in the Time of
Melancholia at Battersea Arts Centre for the London International Mime
Festival (1997).
In 1986 Ernst initiated the Brixton heART Room, ‘a
loose association of artists and performers exploring aspects of
site-specific performance and queer communality’. This project became the subject of Ernst’s PhD research at the Roehampton Institute: Minotaurs - Mapping the Queer Space of Living-room Theatre and Domestic Performance (1994 - present).
Ernst holds an MA. (Drama and Theatre
Studies) from London University.
